Why my ASL Finger Spelling Workshop?

Finger spelling is an essential skill every person using ASL will need to master. In all my years of using ASL, I have needed to spell a word in basically EVERY conversation.

Yes, that's right. Have you ever watched a live interpreter? I would estimate that nine times out of ten, the interpreter will finger spell a word.

My unique approach not only teaches students how to sign the ASL Alphabet for themeselves, but also offers practice in identifying and recognizing the letters in words.

My goal for students is to come away feeling confident in their ability not only to finger spell to another person, but also feel confident in READING words finger spelled to them.

Hey, there! I'm Christine!

Thanks so much for your interest in my ASL Finger Spelling Workshop!

I began learning American Sign Language over twenty-five years ago and I am so glad I did! I have been able to communicate with the Deaf and hard-of-hearing, interpret for church services, teach classes, make new friends, and more!

I'd be honored to have you participate in my workshop and join a community of like-minded students who want to learn to communicate through ASL.

My teaching style is straightforward and simple. I expect my students to apply themselves and enjoy the learning process. Anything worth achieving requires effort. It's definitely no different when attempting to learn a language.

Completing this ASL Finger Spelling Workshop has been a fulfillment of my dream. As a busy homeschool mom, there was never a perfect time to get it done. So, at 30 weeks pregnant, I decided to take the plunge (so, please excuse my pregnancy-induced stuffy nose).

This Workshop is the first of hopefully many more helpful products that I plan to offer.

This Workshop includes over 100 minutes of video instruction as well as a PDF workbook. The Workbook can be printed in its entirety, printed in sections, or used as a fillable PDF digital textbook.

This Workshop is designed to give the student a solid grasp on finger spelling with emphasis on developing receptive skills.
